Mark Traver is a Director/Cameraman. He was interested in art, photography and music at an early age. He is a graduate of The American University’s Film Program where he focused on Cinematography and Psychology. He has a fascination with how images affect a viewer both emotionally and subliminally. He trained in 35 and 16mm film formats and moved early into digital. He worked his way up through the camera department while shooting independent projects and working as a still photographer.
Based in the Washington, DC area, he has worked extensively on both documentary and commercial productions. His work has taken him all over the world. He has shot numerous award-winning projects for National Geographic, The World Wildlife Fund, The Smithsonian Institution, PBS, and Discovery Channel. In his 30 years of experience, he has created spots for national clients such as Pfizer, Comcast, BP, Herbalife , PhRMA, CNN, AOL and Gillette.
