John co-founded Black Watch Productions in 1989 as a model of what a nimble, creative, versatile production services company should be, with the kind of flexibility to grow and evolve in the ever-changing landscape of film and video production. John has produced thousands of commercials throughout his broadcast production career, starting out at a film studio in New Rochelle that produced spots for kids and toys, continuing to grow into challenging new markets when Black Watch was born.

John’s skills as a multi-talented Producer/Writer have evolved as Black Watch’s production projects have grown to include TV shows, award-winning educational videos, content creation, Cause Marketing pieces, broadcast promos, feature film and documentary projects and branded content. Most recently, John has brought in innovative digital projects and developed teams to work with the frontier technology of immersive LED Walls. Coming out of the recent pandemic, Black Watch has become involved in Virtual Production, as well as multi-camera live streaming events that had to take the place of live conventions and workshops for corporate clientele.

John particularly enjoys traveling to locations all over the country and working with local crews to produce great work, and, as an offshoot of that experience, he spent much of the last year producing live action customer videos all over the United States and overseas without leaving the office-pandemic production at its best! He is a savvy, unflappable producer with many years of experience and resources that he brings to bear on every project.

Monica Anderson is a founding co-owner of Black Watch Productions, Executive Producer and Creative Director/Director/Editor. Having started her career as a theatrical director/actor and professional photographer, Monica has slipped seamlessly into the world of film and video. She has helped shape the many reinventions and the ongoing evolution of Black Watch with the creativity, intelligence and energy she infuses into every situation.

Monica is a triple threat producer/director/editor and recently finished a landmark filmmaker attraction video commissioned by the State of New Jersey, which extolls the many virtues of shooting your project in the Garden State. She is equally at home producing Broadcast content or events and spots in the digital space, as well as writing, producing and directing award-winning Cause Marketing documentaries that raise the visibility of not-for-profit enterprises. Monica is well known for being an “actor’s director”, bringing out the best performances from celebrities, politicians, kids, non-actors and first-time performers.

Monica has helped move Black Watch into content creation, design editorial services, kid’s educational projects and documentaries, bringing her creative prowess to virtually any category that is served by expert video production, and making it possible for Black Watch to evolve and thrive in the New York area for over thirty years. Monica is currently directing the feature documentary "And So We Ride" which chronicles the stories of the riders and crew from our nearly 20-year involvement with the Braking AIDS Ride, an annual 3 Day/300-mile charity bicycle ride benefitting the HIV/AIDS services of Housing Works.
